Only three years have passed since the exotic adventure of The Limboos got under way, but the great stir they have caused up and down the continent has already put them in the limelight as one of the most solid and hottest bands on the current music scene. In their first album, Space Mambo (Penniman Records, 2014), they presented a catchy collection of their own songs, offering a fresh take on the best of Rhythm and Blues spiced with Latin rhythms and influences.
The band slightly modified its line-up in late 2015 and is now a quintet featuring Daniela Kennedy on drums; Roi Fontoira, lead guitar and vocals; Sergio Alarcón, percussion, guitar and keyboards; Dani Niño, baritone sax and Santiago Sacristán on double bass.
This is the team that has now returned to the Big Cheff analogue recording studio and the result is this single, an appetizer for their long-awaited second LP: I need your lovin' / I'm a fool. Two sides, two numbers, one for each aspect of their personal sound: I need your lovin' is an upbeat R&B number that will have the dance floors jumping, while I'm a fool is a mid-tempo offering in which the group leans in masterly fashion towards the sounds of soul and blue beat.
